How to solve a problem with the installation of the USB token for electronic signature of IO AD

For some time "Information Service" JSC offers its customers a compact electronic signature device - USB token which combines a smart card and a reader in one unit with the size of a small flash memory. The device is very compact and convenient, but you may encounter a problem when installing it on some versions of Windowsnamely, you get a message about "Unrecognized or unknown error" when registering your signature in Smart Security Interface - service software of the electronic signature, which makes the electronic signature unusable. What should you do in this case? If you are an inexperienced IT user, it is best to contact an Information Services specialist and seek assistance to resolve the issue. But if you are an IT specialist or you have searched for information in Google on the issue, you can use the following guidelines to deal with the problem:

Run the program regedit.exe on Windows, on the left side of the window, choose from the tree menu HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE then SOFTWARE - Microsoft - Cryptography - Calais - SmartCards - here at the top you should find a folder ACOS - delete the folder with all its contents. That's it 🙂

Now you need to successfully register the electronic signature with the Smart Security Interface software.

Before you use an e-signature, restart your favourite browser that you are working with so that the changes you have made take effect.

The above procedure has been successfully tested by me when a problem occurred in Windows 8.1.

This guidance has not been produced by the official service provider IO plc but has been fully implemented in accordance with guidance given by their specialist.

The responsibility for all procedures you will perform remains entirely yours!
