From 1 January 2026 Bulgaria will officially introduce the euro as its currencyand the lev will remain in use only for a short transitional period. This means that all online shops will have to display the prices of goods and services in BGN and EUR at the same time since the beginning of the double indication of priceswhich was launched back in second half of 2025
What does this mean for online store owners?
✔️ All product prices must be displayed both in BGN and EUR, according to the official fixed rate:
1 EUR = 1.95583 BGN
✔️ Information must be visible in the product pages, in the cart, in checkas well as in all order confirmation emails.
✔️ The two-price designation will be mandatory at least until the end of 2026, and penalties for non-compliance will not be delayed.
